As a high school student, Yachi Haruaki possesses a natural immunity to curses, much to the delight of his father, Honatsu. Honatsu sends him cursed objects known as "Worse," challenging him to break their curse. On one occasion, Honatsu gives Haruaki a black cube, which he encounters one night when he stumbles upon a naked, silver-haired girl stealing rice crackers. This girl is none other than the human form of the cube - an instrument of torture called "Fear in Cube." Together, Haruaki and Fear must fight against both the "Worse" objects and their sinister owners, utilizing Fear's 32 mechanisms of torture.
