Ogata was well-regarded throughout his academic and professional career as a diligent and empathetic individual who valued lending a helping hand to others. Unfortunately, his strong sense of justice often grated on the nerves of his colleague Ayase, who grew increasingly irritated by his moral stance. Ayase therefore colluded with co-worker Kamiya, a prostitute hired by the company's president, to deceive Ogata.
Despite his reputation as a model citizen, Ogata struggled to overcome the darkness within himself, which seemed to plague him relentlessly. While he watched his parents' fate unfold around him, he experienced conflicting emotions of love and despair in a life that seemed devoid of any real meaning.
