In Europe during the late 19th century, there lived a teenager called "Silver" due to the distinct hue of her hair. Despite her overworked mother's efforts to cure her of a puzzling ailment by funding multiple medical treatments, Silver's condition did not improve. The villagers believed in an age-old tale of the Devil, who disguised himself as a charming gentleman to allure young women and to maintain his existence. In the locals' eyes, Silver and her mother were the Devil's prey, and a foreigner bachelor named "Crow," who only wore black, was the villain himself.
Initially indifferent to these rumors, Silver's perspective changed radically when she observed her mother inexplicably deteriorate at the hands of a cloaked stranger one night. Shortly after, Silver lost consciousness and found herself waking up beside Crow. Being motherless, he offered to look after her by taking her away with him. As time passed until the early 20th century, neither of them aged discernibly. It became apparent to Silver that they were both non-human, so when did her transition occur?
