Yuuki Morimura, the concertmaster of the Fujimi Citizens Orchestra, adores music and deeply cares about his small, tightly-knit group, despite their amateur status. However, everything changes when a new, brilliant conductor named Kei Tounoin is enlisted to reinvigorate their music and orchestra. Yuuki initially fears Tounoin's rigorous demands will drive away his fellow musicians, but as he witnesses the conductor bring out the best in them, he begins to reassess his reasons for staying in Fujimi. To Yuuki's frustration, Tounoin seems to understand the orchestra even better than he does, and has even won the heart of the girl that Yuuki has secretly admired for three years. Feeling his pride wounded, Yuuki wants to quit Fujimi, but Tounoin has other plans for him.
