At first glance, Nagisa Misumi and Honoka Yukishiro appear to be polar opposites. Nagisa is athletic, while Honoka is studious, and despite attending the same school, they share few interests - that is until a celestial event brings two peculiar beings into their world. Mippuru and Meppuru, displaced inhabitants of the Garden of Light that has been overtaken by Darkness, grant Nagisa and Honoka exceptional abilities, allowing them to transform into Cure Black and Cure White, protectors of the light. Their newfound powers bind them together as Pretty Cure.
