Shortly before the onset of the French Revolution, Gerard, a commoner, patronizes an upscale brothel. There, he engages in an intimate encounter with Jacques, a young noble sold into prostitution, whom he later purchases from bondage. Despite Jacques' disdain for commoners and Gerard's animosity towards the nobility, they cross paths anew, with Jacques serving as Gerard's new domestic aide.
