A malevolent spirit has plagued Morisaki Aki throughout his life, with the haunting following him into high school where it continues to torment him. Despite his reluctance, he is forced to join the gardening club by the overbearing upperclassmen, Akabane and Tokunaga. However, he soon discovers that the club is merely a facade for the Loan Shark Club - a mysterious organization led by the same intimidating seniors who elicit fear from staff members. This sets Aki on an unfortunate path through high school, as he faces misfortunes at every turn.
Unexpectedly, Aki finds himself experiencing various inexplicable emotions as he clashes with the vastly different personalities of Akabane and Tokunaga. While the trio confronts their own personal struggles, a daring teenage rebellion blossoms, ultimately binding them together in ways they could never have imagined.
