As a high school teacher, Kasai finds Katou Reiji to be both irritating yet charming. Despite Katou's confession of affection, Kasai maintains a professional relationship. When Katou graduates in the spring, Kasai bids him farewell. Eventually, Katou becomes a teacher at the same school as Kasai, several years down the line.
