Taking place in the year separating the first two games, the manga centers on two fresh faces, Tyr and Mizuha, and the enigma of Gear components descending from the heavens. The Post War Administration Bureau, or P.W.A.B., an elusive group that has featured in several game events, plays the role of the antagonists. Iconic characters from the games, such as Sol, Ky, Axl, Potemkin, and Kliff, make cameo appearances, but with limited significance.
