Saved from fiendish Monsters by the leading figure of the MagiCorps, he sets forth on a journey to the metropolis of Sforzando to enroll in the prestigious MagiCorps School of Magic. It's there that he meets Great, a violin-wielding magician, and the offspring of the celebrated hero, Hamel. Amidst the trials and tribulations of magic school, Schel grapples with his own personal secrets whilst contending against his formidable adversaries. But, in the end, the greatest challenge he faces is the cut-throat rivalry of his peers.
