In this manga, we follow the story of Hohoko—a high school student living with her musician father—and Yahiro, her fellow student who assists in the school library. Yahiro is a fan of Hohoko's father's band, Hana to Hoho, and recognizes who he is. Hohoko, who loves books, and Yahiro, who is obsessed with music, exchange messages in the school library, despite it being against the rules, which allows them to begin to know each other better. While Hohoko finds herself attracted to Yahiro, he is more interested in her father's music. This bothers Hohoko since she feels like their friendship is based on her father's fame. Over time, they uncover hidden secrets about Hohoko's mother and Yahiro's past, which shapes his perspective on love. The story takes place over one summer and is depicted with a calm tone.
