Taichi Tonkatsu, a talented baseball player, was the shining star of the National High School Baseball Championship with his extraordinary batting and pitching skills. With fans all over Japan, he was destined to become a professional baseball player until his untimely death occurred on his way back from the tournament.
After his departure, Taichi finds himself face to face with God, who offers to return him to Earth under one condition. Taichi must travel to Galia, a world where nations settle their differences through baseball, and assist Freedom, the weakest nation that represents humanity, in their fight against the enslavement of their people by other nations.
Taichi accepts the offer and awakens in Galia only to find that most of the population has been oppressed, leaving Freedom with a team consisting of only women, children and the elderly. With Freedom on the brink of extinction, Taichi must use his knowledge of baseball to help the most vulnerable race in Galia survive.
