At a high school year opening assembly, Kaede is caught off guard when Nomiya, a transfer student who is younger than him, suddenly embraces him. Nomiya reminds Kaede of a summer they spent together as children and becomes determined to reconnect with him. However, Kaede is still struggling with the death of his brother, who may have taken his own life due to gender dissociative disorder, causing him to hesitate in getting too close to Nomiya. Despite his initial reluctance, the two eventually become close friends, and their relationship develops into something romantic.
