After the tragic loss of her whole family in a mysterious inferno, Soon-Doong decides to leave her native Yanbian and start anew in South Korea. Armed only with a plane ticket, a meagre bundle of clothes, and a singed letter between her grandfather and a "textile factory owner" in Seoul, she resolves to secure a job at the factory and live a decent and honest life. As it turns out, the "textile factory owner" is the CEO of the country's largest clothing brand, and Soon-Doong's grandfather had not only been his close friend but also saved his life and provided the capital that laid the foundation for his business empire. Thus begins Soon-Doong's journey in Korea, as she challenges stereotypes against ethnic Koreans from Yanbian and compels everyone to re-evaluate their values and way of living.
