The story is based on Mu Yu Nian Hua's online novel of the same name. It begins with the unsettling discovery of a floating corpse in Dabazi Village, H County one night. The villagers alerted the police and old Zhong and Zhang Kai were tasked with handling the case. The victim was found handcuffed and had been murdered in a gruesomely shocking way. Nie Yun set a seven-day deadline for old Zhong and Zhang Kai to unravel the mystery. However, two police officers lost their lives in the process of capturing the perpetrator.
