Mashiro Fujisaki, who has endured bullying and neglect, makes the decision to take her own life. However, as she nears a bridge railing, a young man interrupts her by declaring that her suicide location has already been reserved by someone else. This stranger, named Haruka Kudou, introduces himself as a "Jisatsuya" - someone who deals with all aspects of suicide. Haruka apologizes for preventing her attempt and offers to help Mashiro end her life as promised.
