The "Great Destruction" caused worldwide devastation and resulted in the formation of a wasteland called "Dry Aqua". This calamity also created cracks in the fabric of time and space, unleashing formidable creatures into the world. Luckily, society has found a way to combat these beasts by using "Maki", specialized magic containers that can confine and manipulate them. However, Maki can be a two-edged sword depending on the wielder's skill level.
Len, a seasoned veteran, and his young sidekick Jou journey through the Dry Aqua as hunters, using their Maki to ensnare prey. They have an additional mission, though - eradicating the "Shadow Eaters", former soldiers who lost control of their Maki after merging with them. To safeguard society, they resolve to expel this threat from Dry Aqua. Nevertheless, Len, a former soldier himself, is tormented by his past sins and the clock is ticking for him to confront them.
