The King Arthur tales take an unexpected turn when a youth named Art miraculously removes the enchanted sword Excalibur from its stone sheath. However, he soon learns that he is not the only Arthur with the task of protecting Britain and proving himself as the rightful ruler. Despite his frail constitution, Art's lifelong pal Ligu who wields Excalibur as well, does everything to safeguard Art from danger. Art finds himself in a castle brimming with knights - artificial creatures who serve the rulers of the land. His respectful treatment of the knights makes them consider him a possible candidate for the true king. Nevertheless, can Art, a shy and physically weak person, achieve this esteemed position?
