In "Tonari no Heya de," Igarashi is neighbors with his co-worker and friend Ichikawa, who frequently brings new women back to his apartment. Despite his nosiness, Ichikawa is caring and helpful towards Igarashi, who often buys pre-made meals. However, Ichikawa is unaware of Igarashi's homosexuality, which becomes revealed when Igarashi invites an ex-lover over and discovers that Ichikawa has returned home earlier than usual.
