When he was young, Bard revered his father, the king of their tribe, and cherished the extraordinary trinkets he would bring back from his travels. One night, Bard vividly recalls his father's return with a collection of particularly rare creatures, including a small, white half-beast that caught Bard's eye. But the king cautioned him never to let the creature touch him.
As a grown man and the next in line for the throne, Bard works tirelessly to live up to his father's legacy. One day, he stumbles upon a little cottage and comes face to face with the same peculiar albino creature from his childhood, named Maya. As Bard becomes attached to the half-beast and starts teaching him how to write, he becomes even more fond of him.
However, as an omega, Maya enters a phase of heightened fertility, and Bard must decide whether to follow his father's advice.
