Rin and Len belong to a samurai clan that rules Musashi. Rin is the older sibling, while Len is the younger brother. They have been living comfortably with their uncle, who is the clan's leader, until Len began feeling guilty about his romantic feelings for Rin.
Their quiet life was disturbed when they found out that negotiations were taking place with Owari for Len to wed and create a political alliance. Rin is distraught about losing the man she loves, but Len accepts it as inevitable. Interestingly, the woman with control over their destiny is named Miku.
