Following her high school graduation, Megumi Yoshida, who was frequently called derogatory names like "Useless Yoshi" or "Yoshi-dame", enrolled in a university prep school. Regrettably, she faced challenges in making friends, and so resorted to utilizing presents as a means of forging a connection with a classmate who had a fondness for gifts. However, because she could not afford expensive cosmetics, she turned to shoplifting to obtain them.
Eventually, Useless Yoshi joined a shoplifting group, and although remorseful at first, she grew to enjoy the thrill of the illegal activity. Upon realizing the harm she was causing those who knew of her wrongdoing, she decided to make amends by returning the stolen items. Nonetheless, this proved to be difficult due to opposition from Yumacchi and her accomplices who persisted in their shoplifting endeavors.
