The narrative of Kurogane no Linebarrel unfolds in an imaginary alternate era and revolves around a pupil in middle school, Kouichi Hayase, who copes with the torment of being bullied by indulging in heroic fantasies. In 2016, his life takes an irrevocable turn during a class excursion when a man-made satellite crashes, leaving him comatose for six months. Upon recovery, Kouichi discovers that he has acquired extraordinary abilities, including incredible physical prowess.
