At just after midday every weekday, a man and woman engage in a competitive battle to complete the lunch menu at a nearby diner. They both order and relish the same dish, but are yet to exchange a single word. The man longs for a deeper connection with her but refrains from making any assumptions.
As the competition draws to a close, the woman arrives with another man and opts for a different dish, conceding defeat. Although triumphant, the man feels unsettled and musters up the courage to confront her.
