Kotoha is an average-looking and unathletic student with below-average grades, who believes she embodies the epitome of mediocrity. Despite this, Kotoha has been friends with Kanade since childhood, who not only possesses good looks but also intelligence. Kotoha harbors secret feelings for Kanade, yet he always remains indifferent towards her. Hoping to revive their childhood friendship, Kotoha attempts to call him "Kana-chan", but he becomes angry each time she does so. Feeling disheartened, Kotoha tries to find comfort in the company of Haruta, known for his womanizing ways.
