This book includes a collection of five stand-alone stories written by Matsumoto Yoko-sensei.
Titled "Ninjin Daisuki" (Carrot Lover), the first story follows the journey of Takashi-chan, a young boy who prays to overcome his hatred for carrots but soon realizes the perils of getting what he wishes for.
In "Saishuu Bus" (The Last Bus), Sachiko visits her friend Hitomi in the countryside, only to find herself in a dangerous situation when she decided to take the last bus home.
The third story, simply called "Family," tells the tale of Yuka and her seemingly perfect family, who live with Yuka's mischievous yet adorable younger sister Eri. Yuka, however, can't shake the feeling that something is wrong.
"Noriaseta Shinigami" (Evil Spirit) follows Miya, who finds herself trapped in the elevator during an earthquake, where a woman warns of a grim reaper among them before suddenly dying. Now, everyone is left wondering if the threat is real.
Lastly, "Soshite Yami wa Yomigaeru" (Inviting Darkness) revolves around Minori and her classmates' trip to a UFO sighting location in the mountains. However, Minori feels a strange sense of deja vu and has an eerie encounter with her cousin Naoki.
