Due to his mental illness, novelist Xu Su inadvertently conjured the nefarious Zhong Ye from one of his books. Even though Xu Su attempted to banish the evil spirit, he repeatedly found himself pushed to the brink of madness. In a desperate bid to end his torment, Xu Su ultimately granted Zhong Ye's desire and broke his seal. However, Xu Su's life did not revert to the tranquil existence he desired. As the saying goes, "if you bargain with the devil, you'll eventually succumb to him."
