An anthology of tales.
The first three chapters, "Reparations in Green," tell the story of a woman discovering her husband's death forty years after he vanished. However, as she delves into his past, she realizes that everything she thought she knew about him was a falsehood.
In chapter four, "Me and Evil and Peaceful Days," a young inventor yearns for excitement in his dreary life. He longs for something extraordinary to occur, even the end of the world.
Chapter five, "Unfettered," explains how the islanders sacrifice a bride to the ogre god when their crops begin to fail. However, the deity isn't interested in a spouse.
The final chapter, "Adrift," is the account of a solitary spirit finding companionship with a young boy. After their friend's return, though, he has become distant.
