Lu was born on Taiwan's north coast, but moved to Taipei to attend university. The bustling metropolis provided exciting opportunities, yet Lu found it difficult and lonesome until she stumbled upon a boy performing with his band at the Kafka by the Sea live house. His music helped her to broaden her outlook and find a renewed sense of direction. As they spent more time together, their affection for one another blossomed, until a music-related opportunity arose for him and created an insurmountable chasm between them.
