During their youth, Wataru and his younger brother both participated in gymnastics like their parents. Initially, Wataru, the elder sibling, held the upper hand in terms of ability, but the discrepancy in talent between the two became evident over time. Presently, Wataru's younger brother has secured a spot in the Olympics representing Japan, while Wataru struggles to find purpose in his daily routine. As a means of stress relief, Wataru turns to kickboxing and with the aid of training partners and competitors, he acknowledges the importance of hard work over natural talent.
