This tale chronicles the adventures of a medicine vendor-turned-demon slayer. Armed with a sword, he tracks down and eliminates these malevolent beings known as mononoke. Yet, prior to brandishing his weapon, he vigilantly delves into understanding the demon's shape (katachi), the veracity of the human misfortunes (makoto) and the rationale behind the wickedness (kotowari) that sparked its creation.
