Upon losing consciousness, Kamihara Kurusu awakens to discover that his soul has traveled back in time to the year 1941, specifically the day when the Yamato battleship is launched during the Showa 16 era. Despite the initial shock of his situation, Kurusu endeavors to manipulate the timeline in order to ensure Imperial Japan's victory in the Pacific War. To help him in his mission, he teams up with an ensign who possesses the unique ability to communicate with him. Together, they relay Kurusu's knowledge of the war's history to Yamamoto Isoroku, commander of the combined fleet. However, Kurusu soon realizes that his adversary is not only the United States but also the unyielding force of history itself.
