Wataru Fuwa is a high school student whose fondness for adorable items, such as plushies, is undying. His day takes a dark turn when he encounters bullies while playing an arcade game that awards a cute stuffed teddy bear. In his bid to evade them, he runs into a unique toy-catching machine- one with a full-grown naked man inside. The man, referred to as "Mofu-tarou" after the bear Wataru is trying to win insists that he is a stuffed animal, with visibly man-made ears and tail. After following Wataru home, he is determined to become his new plushie amidst the chaos of his highly unusual life, where even Mumu-tan- an ostensibly inanimate plushie- begins to converse. Now, Wataru faces the challenge of concealing his new acquisition, Mofu-tarou, while juggling the craziness of his talking stuffed bear.
