Yoshito Oogami, a former city consultant, leaves his job to pursue agriculture in the countryside. As a parting gift, his neighbor Mika gives him a puppy named Ume. However, Yoshito soon realizes that Ume is not a normal dog, but a Japanese wolf left with him to continue its species.
