Mitsuro seizes an opportunity to cook a meal for his famished stepson Hikota, hoping to earn the title of "papa" from the young boy. The middle-aged man's best effort in the kitchen is met with confusion from Hikota due to Mitsuro's unconventional food choices. Nevertheless, Hikota decides to try the food and learns a valuable lesson: one should not judge either food or people by outward appearances.
