During the 21st century's early years, there was a sudden upsurge in genetic mutations resulting in exceptional abilities in people. However, these enhanced individuals are treated with hostility and eventually turn to a criminal life. To combat the problem, the government teams up with Peigenz, a clandestine group of skilled bounty hunters consisting of mutated beings.
Jay Berell, an ordinary high school student, is inadvertently involved in a brawl between Peigenz and a ruthless serial killer. This event triggers Jay's latent mutant powers, prompting her to join the Peigenz coalition.
