After escaping a gang's attempted rape, Akira Shindo is transferred to Fuga High School where she befriends the mysterious and bandaged Mahiru Suruga. Despite Mahiru's commitment to solitude, she gets caught up in school incidents and impresses Akira with her fighting skills. As their friendship deepens, Mahiru's life becomes more complicated with the arrival of her father and a wannabe swordmaster while aspiring reporter Satoru Tsunami investigates her rebellious nature. Throughout the series, viewers are taken on a journey through Mahiru's past and inner thoughts, but should be aware of scenes that feature partially clothed girls.
