Qiu Ning had been leading an average life as a proficient billiard player until an encounter with professional snooker player Cheng Haiyan. Although Qiu Ning had never been beaten since childhood, Cheng Haiyan proved to be the exception to this rule. Despite losing, Cheng Haiyan recognized Qiu Ning's extraordinary talent, and thus, Qiu Ning approached him to receive coaching at his snooker club. With Cheng Haiyan's guidance, Qiu Ning honed his skills and eventually transitioned into a career as a professional player.
