After flunking his medical school entrance exams, Tetsu Sakura feels dejected and decides to spend his summer looking after his deceased grandmother's house. One day, while taking a walk with his canine companion, Tetsu spots a Zero Fighter aircraft zooming through the sky before crash-landing in a nearby field. A wounded man, Haruyuki Onaga, emerges from the plane and believes that the Second World War is still ongoing. Even as Tetsu tends to the injured stranger, his true identity remains shrouded in mystery.
