Despite being 26 years old and having a stable job, Yamada Hiroyuki struggles with the pressure of conforming to his family's expectations and judgment over his love for otaku culture. To escape the judgment and seek happiness, he makes the choice to move out of his family home and into a new apartment. However, his peace is short-lived when he learns that his new neighbor is a tough schoolgirl, known as a yankee. Over time, Hiroyuki comes to see that behind her rough exterior, she is actually a kind and shy person. As the two spend more time together, Hiroyuki begins to wonder if their connection could become something more.
