The four anime films of Saint Seiya have been adapted into manga:
Athena's brother, Sun God Apollo, arrives to retrieve her and take over the sanctuary. He resuscitates the Gold Saints, along with a few God Saints to serve as bodyguards. However, Athena refuses to comply with his demands, leading Apollo to banish her to hell. Meanwhile, the Bronze Saints set out to save Athena.
Eris, the goddess of chaos, inhabits the body of Elien, a friend of Hyoga's, to revive herself. She obtains a golden apple that extracts Athena's life force, enabling her to spread chaos throughout the world. Before facing Eris, Seiya and his companions must first defeat the Ghost Knights.
In the northern reaches of Europe, Odin's reincarnation, Dolbar, reigns supreme. One day, when Hyoga rescues a man in Siberia, he warns him of trouble in Asgard. Athena investigates and sends Hyoga there early, but upon her arrival, Hyoga is nowhere to be found. When Dolbar captures Athena, aiming to conquer the sanctuary, the Bronze Saints come to her aid but are attacked by the God Warriors.
The spirits of Eris, Abel, and Poseidon awaken Lucifer from his eternal slumber. His desire to become the strongest of all gods drives him to kill Athena.
