Despite being a frequent victim of high school bullying, Ryouta appears to dismiss any concern for his own welfare. Luckily, his childhood friend Akito has taken it upon himself to be Ryouta's protector. In the absence of his parents, Akito has become the most significant force in Ryouta's life, caring for him in various ways, such as cooking scrumptious homemade meals.
Although Ryouta deeply values his relationship with Akito, he struggles to reciprocate the kindness he has been shown. Any attempts to establish independence backfire, leading Akito to become even more watchful. What Ryouta doesn't realize is that a promise made in the past binds the two tightly to this day.
