In "Rain's Absolution," Kengo Tsuchiya, a notable reporter and photographer, comes across Yukihiko Fukazawa being attacked by thugs on a stormy night. Offering him a place to stay after discovering his passion for photography and imminent eviction, Yukihiko becomes Kengo's assistant. Yukihiko is the son of a government official who committed suicide during Kengo's corruption investigation, causing him to flee home. Feeling guilty, Kengo searched for him for years. With time, Yukihiko learns to trust Kengo. In Chapters 4-5, "The Categorization of Happiness" is a continuation of the prior sections. Chapter 6, "P.S. After That, We..." follows.
