Yoshihiro Takahashi's maiden dog manga titled Shiroi Senshi Yamato featured the life of a white akita dog named Yamato. The protagonist had a unique mark on his forehead and was bred to engage in dogfights. The plot traced Yamato's journey from a young pup to a mighty dog as he overcomes challenges and emerges victorious as the champion. The volume also contains an additional story called Moon Kid.
