The appearance of "Ryuugaeri," a phenomenon that gradually turns ordinary individuals into dragons, has revolutionized the world. This newly discovered species, dubbed "were-dragons," has been welcomed into modern society and continues to navigate life as best they can.
One day, a dragon unexpectedly plummets from the sky before high schooler Murasaki Kurogane's eyes. Moved by the starving creature's plight, Murasaki takes it upon himself to feed Tsukumo. Upon realizing that Tsukumo has nowhere to go, Murasaki kindly offers up his own abode to the were-dragon. Yet, as night falls, Tsukumo's overwhelming fear of solitude awakens a desire for human warmth.
