Chiaki Kirino is a typical high schooler who lacks in various aspects. He has no relatives, no funds, and no clue about his future living arrangements beyond graduation. Moreover, his heart is hollow, forever fixated on Fujio, although he's frightened to talk with Fujio, dreading his lack of appeal. To Chiaki, Fujio's mere existence brings him some pleasure.
