During WWII, Shiina Atsushi is a Japanese-American boy living in Japan when he stumbles upon a collapsed building and a Chinese girl with a glowing symbol on her back. She reveals that she's from a destroyed world and just as she's about to leave, the military shows up and demands her to go with them. Atsushi is left with questions about who this girl is and what he should do.
