Following the demise of his former lover, Kanata, a scientist, transformed into an individual fixated on work and drinking. While conducting an experiment, he made an error that resulted in a young boy unexpectedly emerging. Unwilling to accept the non-human child, Kanata attempted to reject him, but a friend stepped in to prevent it. After giving the boy a name, they embarked on a new adventure together, though Kanata suffered as the child bore a striking resemblance to his late partner. The emotional turmoil that ensued is thoroughly analyzed in the one-shot Shinkuu Teien.
