Akira witnesses a brave and imposing young man take down several assailants who were threatening an unknown individual. Following the altercation, the young man, known as Oodoi, collapses on the street, prompting Akira to take him back to the apartment complex he manages. Oodoi requests to stay, and soon manages to integrate into Akira's life. However, as time passes, Oodoi's true character is revealed as a lazy individual who dislikes work, enjoys lounging beneath a kotatsu in comfortable clothing, and has a fondness for canines (who do not reciprocate the affection). This stark contrast to the initial image of Oodoi as a courageous and manly hero surprises Akira. Nevertheless, it is later disclosed that Oodoi hails from a prominent yakuza family, prompting the question of whether his presence in Akira's life is a result of genuine interest or just a means of eluding family obligations.
