Kaede Satou finds comfort in a dilapidated Chinese eatery, where she frequents to soothe herself. In the confined space of the restaurant, she takes pleasure in consuming potstickers and swigging beer. The establishment is managed by a woman who lost her previous ramen shop to a fire, and her husband, who remains an enigma, cooking from behind a wooden barricade.
Exhausted after another tedious day at the pachinko parlor, Kaede returns to the restaurant, only to discover that it will close permanently by the year-end. However, the owner vows to offer Kaede a final serving of their renowned tantanmen – a delicacy previously sold at their former shop. Moreover, she permits Kaede to meet the potsticker maker, who has been catering to her needs for an extended period.
